March is for Colon Cancer Awareness
Your donation during the month of March specifically helps fund the initiative at H.E. Corley, where Sarah Harmon was awarded Teacher of the Year. Sarah fought the good fight, but graduated to Heaven last year from this type of cancer.

Sarah inspired Tank the Turtle
Sarah’s perseverance during her battle with cancer led her family to write Tank’s story. Now Tank gets to give back to Sarah’s school and the children she loved.

Why the goal of $3500?
Sarah’s favorite bible verse was Proverbs 3:5 which says “trust in the LORD with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. $3500 will purchase multiple sets of books for the school to use.

Create Opportunities
Donations made during the month of March would help fund a reading themed mural and decodable books for beginning readers to use during small group instruction or for independent enjoyment at HE Corley Elementary School.

Support Targeted Learning
The informational text sets from Pioneer Valley Publishing Company, called Infocodables, will allow students targeted practice with specific phonics skills. Each 6-pack set includes engaging books with vibrant photographs of plants, animals and various habitats.

Inspire Lifelong Readers
These types of decodable texts increase confidence and allow students to experience success. As confidence grows, so does a love for reading. Positive early reading experiences help create lifelong readers and leaders.
